Inspired by the shifting reflections and scattered color of lily pads across the surface of Vose Pond, Lily Pads, Vose Pondexplores the contrast between still water and the lively shapes and colors that float across it.
Expressive brushwork and graphic shapes create a sense of movement across the surface of the water, with unexpected flashes of color woven throughout the composition. The reflections become as much a part of the painting as the lily pads themselves, creating a balance between abstraction and the recognizable landscape.
This fine art print reproduces Emily Mackley’s original acrylic painting, preserving the expressive brushwork, layered color, and character of the original work.
